• handling inquiries
• conference coordination and associated fees

• look at broader biological questions in addition to operations (not supported by most attendees)
• include nursery operations (agreed to add nursery operations to charter)

• overall pleased with current organization and structure

• biannual with some dissent on needing to maintain momentum given newness of working group

• need to put minutes of steering committee meetings on home page or hard copy to those requesting
• need to put out a newsletter summarizing the conference

• fixed composition with geographical and sector representation
• size of 15 appropriate (decision to be made by steering committee)
• suggestions for new members -- add chemical manufacturer to industry group; add international representation; add environmental perspective
• steering committee to have rotational positions with limited serve time
